If you have an interest in the film society and the Fountain Theatre, consider serving on the board of directors.
Board members take part in the day-to-day operation of the theatre. There are once-a-month board meetings and various committee meetings. In addition, directors are expected to volunteer as theatre managers on a regular basis. For individuals interested in a board member position, we recommend, but do not require, that you work as a box office or concession volunteer at the Fountain Theatre for at least 3 months prior to applying.
Managing a theatre is a multi-discipline operation: promotions, finance/accounting, social media and website maintenance, fundraising, food safety/service, data analysis and special events are all part of what we do. However, you don’t necessarily need experience in these areas to apply. Any individual board member can play to their strengths and contribute in unique ways.
