Fountain Theatre

Volunteers

The Fountain Theatre is operated by volunteers and new help is always welcome. Work at least twice a month and stay to see the movie for free. There are three functional areas: box office, concessions, and projection.

How to

Become a
Volunteer

The Mesilla Valley Film Society is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization. If you have questions or you would like to submit a letter of application describing your qualifications, please email info@mesillavalleyfilm.org.

Volunteers who have worked at least six months in another volunteer capacity are eligible to become theatre managers. A manager coordinates the work of the other volunteers for a screening. They must be familiar with all aspects of the operation.  Managers stay for the entire screening and may bring one guest.  They are responsible for all steps required to open and close each film screening.

Box Office Volunteers

Box office volunteers are asked to be at the theatre at least 15 minutes before doors open to prepare the ticket sales area. Duties include the sale of admissions and merchandise, and answering patron questions. Basic knowledge of computers is required.

Concession Volunteers

Our patrons have come to expect our delicious popcorn and freshly brewed coffee. This service requires friendly volunteers who serve concessions before every movie and clean up the concession stand after the movie.

Projection Volunteers

Projectionists learn lighting and sound management as well as troubleshooting in case of any movie emergencies. A mechanical aptitude is helpful. Projectionists stay for the entire film and may bring one guest.
